The avarage internship day - English
The average internship day looks different for everyone. In my case, we work 5 days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Usually, we don’t start right at 10 a.m.; most colleagues arrive around 10:30.
10:30 - 11:00
We first catch up and ease into the day.
11:00 - 12:30
We begin by responding to all emails and making the day’s schedule. Since my colleagues are also getting started, I often begin by working on a section of my school research assignment.
12:30 - 1:30
Lunch with the team or alone at my desk with Netflix. If you feel like socializing, you can have a chat, but if not, you can pop in your earphones and watch a series.
1:30 - 4:00
Helping out in one of the departments:
As a wedding planner, this can include tasks like creating personalized client packages, making TikTok videos and other promotional content, attending client meetings at external locations, venue viewings, creating mood boards for decor, calculating the total wedding costs (and finding ways to save), and similar responsibilities.
4:00 - 4:30
Afternoon snack and social moment.
4:30 - 6:00
Finishing up daily tasks (internship work or schoolwork), attending an evaluation meeting if needed, and preparing for the next day.
This schedule applies to my specific internship, but most office-based internships tend to have similar daily routines. In my case, the schedule serves more as a guideline than a strict rule.
Tip: Always ask your internship supervisor two days in advance when a day is likely to be busier. This way, you can better plan your time for your school assignment and avoid running out of time. If there’s a very busy week with no time for schoolwork, ask if you can dedicate two days to it the following week.
